Eyüp KemalKaraoğlu

I lead digital transformation at a logistics group in İstanbul, from architecture through to deployment, on every internal web and mobile system. Trained at École 42 on C, sockets and containers, which is still how I prefer to think about a problem: from the layer underneath it.

The remit

One developer, a logistics group, and every internal system it runs on.

Off paper

Vehicle maintenance and technical service, moved into a Flutter app wired straight into the ERP.

Out of the spreadsheet

A pricing model that lived in Excel, rebuilt as a Go service, unit-tested against the file it replaced.

Grounded answers

A retrieval-augmented assistant that answers from what the company actually wrote down.

03Profile

Two curricula, 26 months overlapping

I took a Computer Programming degree at Karabük Üniversitesi and went through the Common Core at École 42 Kocaeli at the same time: two full curricula running in parallel for most of their length. That is where the discipline came from, and the habit of scheduling work against a deadline I did not set.

42 has no lectures and no teachers: you read unfamiliar systems until they make sense, then defend the result in peer review. I still work that way. Give me a problem and I will take it end to end: architecture, implementation, database, deployment. I would rather own the whole path than wait to be handed a spec for part of it.

  • Hazelnut production and pricing systemproduction (roasting, grinding, puree, praline, packaging), contracts, lot matching, sales targets and CRM in a single Go service on PostgreSQL, with JWT and email two-factor authentication, live updates over server-sent events, PDF contract output and an in-product assistant on Claude wired to the live tables. Its pricing model replaced the spreadsheet it grew out of: parameters versioned by validity date, quotes frozen with their inputs at calculation time, and the calculation unit-tested against the original Excel so the two provably agree.

Real-time multiplayer Pong platform

01

ft_transcendence

  • Django
  • DRF
  • WebSockets
  • JavaScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Docker Compose
  • A full-stack Pong platform with JWT-based two-factor authentication and secure account management.
  • A REST API in Django REST Framework, with WebSockets carrying low-latency game state and live chat.
  • Docker Compose for the whole stack, so development and production ran the same environment.
  • PostgreSQL tuned for the stateful side of the product: profiles, match history and global rankings.

Internet Relay Chat server

02

ft_irc

  • C++
  • BSD sockets
  • Multithreading
  • An IRC server written from scratch, speaking the protocol well enough for real HexChat clients to connect.
  • Command handling, message routing between users and channels, and the socket programming underneath it.
  • Real-time parsing and threading logic, where the hard part is what happens when input arrives half-formed.

Inception of Things: GitOps infrastructure

Kubernetes track

  • K3s
  • ArgoCD
  • Vagrant
  • Helm
  • Nginx
  • A multi-node K3s cluster provisioned with Vagrant, with separate control planes and workers to mirror a production distributed environment.
  • A GitOps pipeline through ArgoCD: deployment and synchronisation between GitHub manifests and the cluster fully automated.
  • Nginx Ingress controllers configured for traffic routing, SSL termination and external access to containerised services.
  • Modular Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests, so deployments are standardised and the infrastructure state stays declarative.
